About Rising Star – Rising Star MBC is a Christ-centered, Bible-based fellowship that seeks to be all God has called it to be. In a time when the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being compromised, Rising Star stands as a church of believers led by a pastor that seeks to impact the lives of Christians and the community with the love and truth of the Word of God.

What We Believe

We believe the whole Bible and accept it as our guide in matters of faith and practice.  (Matt. 28:18-20; Luke 6:46; II Tim. 3:15-1)

We believe that salvation in wholly of GOD (John 1:12-13), that we are saved by grace and not of works (Eph. 2:8-9) and that the two conditions of salvation are Repentance and Faith.

We believe in a regenerated membership. (John 3:3; Acts 2:41, 47)

We believe that Christ founded one church and he is its only head.  (Matt. 16:18)

We promote the rights of individuals; 1) We may seek God for ourselves (Acts 17:27), 2) Every person must repent for him or herself (Acts 17:30), 3) Every person must confess for him or herself Romans 10:4), Every person must report to God for him or herself (Romans 14:11-12)

We believe in the democracy of the church, that is every member is equal. (Matthew 20:24-28, Matthew 23:5-8)

We accept as church ordinances only those things ordered by Jesus Christ which symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, namely Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  (Rom. 6:3-5; I Cor.11:23-26)

We believe that the salvation of GOD is eternal.  (John 3:14-18, 10:28-31; Rom. 8:1, 33-39; Heb. 11:13, 32-33)

We believe in the second coming of Christ  (Acts 1:11), the immorality of the human soul (Gen. 2:7, I Cor. 15:53-55), the resurrection of the body (I Cor. 15:44), the final judgment of a just GOD (Matt.25:41-46) and the never ending punishment of sinners and the eternal bliss of the saints. (Matt. 25:34-46).

Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of GOD, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of GOD, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements. And exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of, and use of destructive drugs or intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to shun pornography; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior. We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay. We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of GOD’s word.

The Pastor Speaks

We will have a brief biography of the Pastor here and also have a short video of him (approximately 2-3 minutes long) summarizing his vision of the church.

Ministries

[Jesus provided the pattern for Christian ministry: He came, not to receive service, but to give it (See Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45; John 13:1-17).]

Christian Education

Sunday School- The mission of the Church is to teach the Word of God to our students in order to provide them with a Biblical foundation so that they can be used by the Holy Spirit to lead others to Christ.
